Detailed Review of the Garmin Tactix Bravo GPS Watch

Ever wonder what GPS watch military or law enforcement professionals use? It would most likely be something like the Garmin Tactix Bravo. Garmin has created the ultimate GPS watch supporting every outdoor activity with precision and durability. Below we go over its construction, GPS, features, and connectivity that makes up one of the most adventurous outdoor watches to date.

Materials and Construction

The Garmin Tactix Bravo has a solid construction that makes it comfortable and convenient for outdoor adventures. Its strap is created from a soft nylon that is waterproof. The running watch is also water resistant up to 100 meters to counter any wet terrain you might be exposed to.

Additionally, the case uses non-reflective material and special lighting for hunting or hiding in the wild. The non-reflective top will hide you from anything nearby while there is a special backlight so you can view your watch with night vision goggles on at night.

Lastly, the GPS watch supports up to 20 hours in full GPS mode, 3 weeks for regular use, and has a built-in memory of 32MB. As a result, the device can store 1,000 waypoints and 30 routes anywhere on earth.

GPS System

Garmin’s watch is featured with GPS & GLONASS connection for accuracy in location. This adds an extra edge to any outdoor scenario as you will accurately know where you are at all times. You can easily trace your way through some rugged terrain or back track along a trail to your initial starting point.

For more depth, the watch also contains a compass, altimeter, and barometer. It provides more tools for navigation while measuring your altitude and pressure data in your area.

Extreme Features

The Tactix Bravo is made for any fitness activity indoor or outdoor. This includes training, running, hiking, golfing, swimming, cycling, and even parachuting. This newest feature by Garmin is called the Jumpmaster mode.

Its Jumpmaster feature offers 3 modes for parachuting off an airplane. They are called Static, HAHO, and Halo. It involves dropping from low to high altitudes and opening your shoot at different elevations.

In addition, there is a Tactical mode which displays two coordinates on the GPS watch. This provides a dual-format view for placement when needed.

Connection

Garmin’s Tactix Bravo features Bluetooth and ANT+ connections to measurement devices. This includes heart rate monitors to pair with your running watch for accuracy and fitness statistics and recommendations.

As a result of its Bluetooth feature, the watch can connect with smart phones to receive notifications. This includes emails, SMS and other social media platforms.

The Tactix Bravo can automatically connect to Garmin Connect or Strava. It uploads your recent adventures and activities for analysis and comparisons between individuals within your fitness community.

Cons

Being the ultimate fitness watch can have a few snags, even for the Tactix Bravo. For one, it is costly as one of the most expensive GPS watches around. On top of that, there are numerous features embedded which will not be fully utilized by most people.

Conclusion

Overall, the Garmin Tactix Bravo is an amazing GPS and fitness watch for extreme adventurers or military personnel. Its tracking features, construction, and additional features make it the perfect partner for outdoor use.
